We are the Etobicoke chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW).
Our club is one of the 112 clubs across Canada involving almost 9,000 women. We are committed to pursuing knowledge, promoting education, improving the status of women and girls and actively participating in public issues.
Every year, the Etobicoke Club sends a member of the Executive to attend the CFUW Annual General Meeting at which national policies and strategies are discussed and annual reports are presented.

The Etobicoke Club sets aside the March General Meeting to debate resolutions sent from CFUW to fulfill our advocacy role. If you are a member and would like to be involved in the process, please contact the Chair of the Advocacy Group.
We are also members of CFUW Ontario Council and the International Federation of University Women (IFUW).
Ontario Council has Standing Committees in Legislation, Education, and Status of Women and Human Rights, which were developed to keep members aware of current issues in Ontario. The Committees meet three times a year – in September, January, and March in downtown Toronto – for a day with speakers, workshops and discussion.
Our Club participates at the Standing Committees, representing the views of our Club’s members, and at the regional gatherings. We encourage our Club members to attend Ontario Council events. If you would like more information, please contact the Etobicoke Club’s President.
Our newsletter is published nine times annually.
General meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month from September to May. There is a social time from 7:00 to 7:45 p.m., the meeting convenes at 7:45 p.m. often beginning with a speaker, then followed by the business meeting. The meetings are held at Fairfield Centre, 80 Lothian Ave. (south of Bloor, east of Islington). There is ample parking, the building is easily accessed. The wind-up meeting in May is our annual banquet.
Our interest groups mostly meet on a monthly basis, some meet weekly. They are smaller groups and provide opportunity for learning, activity and friendship.
